Co-op Welcomes New Delivery Driver

In October, the Lorain Cooperative Ministry welcomed Vince Karnik as our new Delivery Driver. Although Michele will remain the Program Coordinator to oversee the daily running of the Co-op, she has handed over the van keys and the weekly delivery schedules to a new driver. Vince was born and raised in Lorain, so he know the terrain well and has a vested interest in the well-being of his community. Now a 30 year Ford Motor retiree, he is finding a little too much time on his hands and a need to fill it. Upon accepting the position, Vince stated that he, “just wants to do whatever he can to help the Co-op.” All who have met him enjoy his warm-hearted nature and his willingness to step-in wherever and whenever needed. We are fortunate to have him aboard and look forward to
working with him for many years to come.

A Fond Farewell

It is with sad but encouraging hearts that we also bid farewell. After seven years as the pastor at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer and 2 years as the Co-op President, Rev. Mary Carson has been called to serve as Priest-In-Charge at St. James Church in her hometown area of Cincinnati, Ohio. We are so grateful to Mary for all she has done for the Co-op and the community of Lorain as a whole. We wish her many blessings in her future endeavors and hope she knows how much she will be missed! Stepping-up as our new President is Rev. Jenni Walker Noyes from
Heritage Presbyterian. We look forward to her new leadership, innovative ideas and collaboration.

Pasta Dinner Update

Thank you to all who joined us at the Pasta Dinner Fundraiser.  It was an enjoyable night of fellowship and absolutely delicious food.  With this year's attendance, we were also able ot raise over $1700 to help us continue to serve those in need.

Turkey Tradition

Mayor Ritenauer's office once again included the Co-op with an annual donation of 35 turkeys.  The turkeys were distributed to 4 Hot Meal sites - that's a lot of turkey dinners!
